4' x 8' x 5/8" DensShield® Tile Backer (Type X)

5/8" DensShield Fireguard Tile Backer, 4' x 8'

DensShield® Tile Backer was designed for use as a substrate for tile walls, ceilings, counter-tops and commercial and residential floor applications in high moisture areas.

The special moisture-resistant, treated core, covered front and back by fiberglass mats, is 30% lighter than conventional cement board. In addition, the 5/8” DensShield Fireguard Tile Backer is classified as “Type X” in accordance with ASTM C 1178 and may replace standard Type X panels in generic fire-rated wall assemblies. It also aligns perfectly with the regular 5/8” Type X gypsum board.

Applications:

Bathrooms (shower and tub walls, floors and ceilings)
Kitchens (back splash, walls, counter-tops and floors)
Residential and light commercial floors
Non-tiled walls and ceilings in indoor swimming pool enclosures
