This product is manufactured specifically to increase the integrity of the core under fire exposure, resulting in improved fire protection over standard gypsum panels.
Systems using SHEETROCK® Brand FIRECODE® Type C Gypsum Panels exceed the definition of ASTM & CSA standards for fire-rated (Type X) drywall. Type C panels qualify for fire ratings of up to 4 hours in walls & columns and 3 hours in ceilings.
